A Bitchy-ish Newsletter
Fucking Mercury is in retrograde.
Fall is officially here and greeted us Ottawans with several days of dreary, rainy weather which was the perfect end to such a lackluster election result.
Your Bitches are still on a podcast hiatus as we recharge and recalibrate post-election, particularly as we adjust to this new platform.
If this is your first Bitchy-ish Newsletter, welcome! It’s a weekly-ish dispatch of things worth sharing, links to interviews or articles we’ve written, and a good way to stay up-to-date with our general goings-on.
But, first some good news! R. Kelly has finally been found guilty. Fuck that guy and all his supporters.

The United States Census Bureau conducted a survey about the pandemic over the summer and it was the first time a national government survey included questions about sexual orientation and gender identity (yes, you read that correctly). It’s been a year since Joyce Echaquan died at a hospital in Joliette, QC and Indigenous people in Quebec still experience barriers and racism in accessing healthcare services (which should come as no surprise to anyone reading this). But Shachi Kurl was the one off-side when she asked Yves-Francois Blanchet about Bill-21 being discriminatory. GTFOH.
Friend of the Pod, Heidi Moore had this great Twitter thread about cishet men and dating:

Erica did some media following the resignation of Green Party leader Annamie Paul.
And Erin wrote about the impact the changes to the NCAA Name, Image & Likeness rule had on SFU athletes.
We’ll be back to recording regular episodes of the podcast SOON, but as a reminder, most of the content will be behind the paywall, including interviews and Misogynist of the Week.
In addition, subscribers will also be able to access other content we have planned, including:
Discussion threads here on Substack
David Moscrop’s Top 10 romantic comedies
A look at the questions we didn’t get to ask party leaders for a national women’s magazine
An interview with our favourite Twitter meme account
