It's true: so far, none of the radar evidence has confirmed a single skeleton or identified a single child. The problem for white nationalist here is that, while many sources have inferred the connection between radar scans and graves, band councils and First Nations leadership have never officially claimed to have definitively found their missing children. This more recent radar evidence is the closest confirmation of the deaths already documented by the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Deniers reject intergenerational trauma as a factor in the refusal by First Nations to immediately dig up lands where bodies might have lain; they claim that refusal means there might not be bodies at all. In any case, burial denial is only one lie in the general case by white nationalists to dismiss residential schools as a "detail of history" and suppress it from any public acknowledgement and government responsibility for treaty obligations with sovereign nations. In the event that a missing child is positively IDed from remains found by the radar scans, that discovery will not silence white nationalists any more than other definitive proof of genocide has shut down racists in the past. Reconciling the truth of residential schools requires the conscious organizing of multiracial democratic movements that consistently defeat white supremacy from its core in national institutions and instruments of control right down to the fringe foot soldiers of racism.
